Mobility support

Stretcher transportation

Stretcher transfer is for scheduled journeys where a passenger needs to stay lying down: a move between facilities, a return home after a long admission, or a specialist appointment across the province. Two attendants handle every stretcher trip, from the bedside at pickup to the bedside at arrival.

What’s included

Everything here is part of the service. Where a trip needs something extra, we quote it before you confirm.

  • Two attendants on every trip

Stretcher transfer is never a one-person job. Two trained attendants manage the transfer at both ends.

  • Bed to bed, not door to door

We move the passenger from their bed at pickup to their bed on arrival, coordinating with nursing staff at both locations.

  • Secured cots and rails

Cots are locked to the vehicle floor, rails stay up in transit, and passengers are belted at the chest, waist and legs.

  • Oxygen-friendly

Passengers travelling with their own portable oxygen are welcome. Tell us at booking so we plan securement and cylinder space.

Who this is for

  • Patients being discharged home who cannot sit for the journey
  • Transfers between hospitals, rehabilitation and long-term care
  • Passengers on palliative or comfort-focused care pathways
  • Anyone whose care team has specified stretcher-level transport

Good to know

  • Stretcher trips need more lead time than seated transfers. Twenty-four hours' notice is ideal; call us if it's sooner and we'll do our best.
  • We are not an ambulance service and cannot provide paramedic care, monitoring or medication en route.
  • Share passenger weight, mobility notes and any precautions in advance so we send the right crew and equipment.

This is not an emergency service. We provide scheduled, non-emergency transportation only. If someone needs medical help right now, call 911.
